The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Basic Life Support Instructor course is to train instructor candidates to teach the basic-level American Red Cross Basic Life Support course.
PREREQUISITES
Must possess a valid basic-level certification in CPR for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent

BLENDED LEARNING: APPROX. 2 HOURS ONLINE / 5 HOURS IN PERSON
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
COURSE MATERIALS
TO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) COURSE, CANDIDATE MUST:
Attend and actively participate in all course sessions.
Demonstrate competency in all required skills.
Pass the Team Response Testing Scenarios as a team leader.
Successfully pass the final written exam with a minimum grade of 80%.
All instructor candidates must have a print or digital version of the following program materials:
■ Basic Life Support Instructor’s Manual for Instructor-Led Training
■ Basic Life Support Instructor’s Manual for Blended Learning
■ Basic Life Support Participant’s Manual
REVIEW - American Red Cross Basic Life Support Course videos, available on the Course Presentation or video segments on the Red Cross Learning Center
