Heart Saver for K-12 Schools

The primary purpose of the American Heart Association Heartsaver for K-12 schools course provides participants with the knowledge and skills they need to assess, recognize and care for patients who are experiencing a respiratory emergency, shock or a cardiac emergency. This course is designed for school professionals and outlined within the school building.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

TO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE [AHA] HEARTSAVER K-12 SCHOOLS COURSE, CANDIDATE MUST:

  1. Attend and actively participate in all course sessions.

  2. Demonstrate competency in all required skills.

  3. Demonstrate competency in leading a team response during the team response testing scenarios.

  4. Successfully pass the final written exam with a minimum grade of 84%.
