The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid course is to provide individuals a foundation of first aid principles and skills to be able to respond to emergencies and give care in areas that do not have immediate emergency medical services (EMS) response, such as wilderness and remote environments, including urban disasters, such as earthquakes and hurricanes.
PREREQUISITES
CURRENT AMERICAN RED CROSS ADULT CPR/AED CERTIFICATION OR EQUIVALENT
*Participants MUST BE at least 14 years of age on or before the last day of class.

INSTRUCTOR LED: 16 HOURS
BLENDED LEARNING: There is no blended learning option for this course
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
COURSE MATERAILS
TO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL RESPONSE (EMR) COURSE, CANDIDATE MUST:
Attend and actively participate in all course sessions.
Demonstrate competency in all required skills.
Demonstrate competency in leading a team response during the team response testing scenarios.
Successfully pass the final written exam with a minimum grade of 80%.
